| NB! Please
note, that I have found it very difficult to find out if all of these waters
are in fact located in this republic - or in another of the ex-Yugoslavian
republics. Please correct me, if I'm mistaken - no offence is ment! |
In Bosnia and Hercegovina
angling permits are usually available from local clubs or at the waters,
from the bailifs. Club adresses and phone numbers can be found here:
http://www.bistrobih.ba/Udruzenja.htm Usually daytickets cost 10 KM - around 5-6 euro.
Please note, that in this country, carp are
traditionally killed and eaten - no matter the size of the fish. This is
slowly changing, and for 10 years or so, a growing number of anglers has
addapted to modern catch & release principles like we know them. |

| Modrac
lake,
Tuzla canton, Lukavac This is at 17 km2 the biggest artificial lake in the region, and is primarily used as water supply for industrial purposes. It is said to hold very big fish too - and at least one carp of 40 kg+ is alledged to have been caught from here. Yes, you read it correctly - the fish pictured here was caught in a net and is told to weigh in at 41,3 kg! Attempts to release the big fish alive unfortunately did not succeed. Catfish have been caught to 3 meters in length and weighing 170 kg! Talk about record potential! It's apparently also a rather polluted lake, recieving effluent from big mining companies in the area. A very competent team of well known french anglers visited the water in 2004 - but caught absolutely nothing ..... >Média Carpe no. 62, april 2005<,

Many small islands are known
hot-spots in this idyllic 1500 ha. lake, holding good carp.

Salakovac
Jerzero,
Mostar
It might be quite hard to find a spot to peg a bivvy at this 314 ha big carp
water. Many fish from a boat - towards the opposite bank. Reputedly best during
summer months due to cold water flowing through the lake - and also flowing
through Jablanico lake. >Alen Sehovic,
