Germany
- not much spoken of
- but the german waters hold many and very big carp!

With the increasing number of german waters being added to the CH-list, I have now divided the list of venues according to the "Bundesland" of their location. At the same time, a few more waters have been added to the list - but it have also become very obvious, that in some of the bundesländer, it is very few waters, I've been able to include in these pages.
This is notably the case with the Saarland, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, Hessen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Baden-Würtemberg - where I'm sure many more fine carp venues must be present and they should of course also be included!
You should also note the lack of informations on waters in Bremen, Hamburg and Berlin. Quite a few good carp waters in Berlin are presented here - some in Hamburg as well - but very few in the Bremen area. I'm certain many more could be included - and I feel it's up to our german friends to do so - and help to complete the work at hand!
This is the only way to keep the evolution of the europeean carp scene going - to the benefit of us all!!

As absurd as it may appear - it's the law in Germany, that you have to kill every fish you catch - so I certainly hope, that you guys like "Blaue Karpfen"
 - You can actually be fined for putting a fine fish back safely!
How foolish can man be?
 - This is so far fetched, that german law on this issue has been the sad laugh of angler throughout Europe for years now!
I wonder, what those brainless politicians would prefere, if they themselves were once trapped in some way - to be killed straight away or to be released again?

The question is, whether visiting anglers choose to follow the german law - or choose to follow their own consciousness and treat the carp with the usual respect and care, we allways do!
Not even the german anglers themselves or most fishery owners show any respect for these misguided laws ..

Generally, 2 rods are allowed at german waters. Authorized nightfishing does not nescessarily mean, that a bivvy is accepted! Very often only umbrellas or shelters with no fixed groundsheet are accepted.

Even though I've done my best to make everything according to my sources,I might have mistaken the location of one or a few waters and placed them in the wrong bundesland. If you discover such a mistake, please let me know, and I'll correct it as soon as possible.
If you have anything to add to the informations available here, don't hessitate to let me know. This of course aplies to informations on waters not mentioned in these pages yet - and if you can spare a few nice pictures of your german fish for these pages, the adress is info@carphunters.com
