Austria

In Austria fishing is generally allowed with up to 2 rods only. Some private waters allow 3. The use of bivvies is not generally accepted - make sure before you buy your ticket!

The main obstacle to visiting anglers is the fact, that many waters are private - and even at public waters very often the banks are private anyway, sometimes making it difficult to determine where you're actually allowed to fish!
Very often your angling permit is only valid to a part of the bigger waters - and not all of it, like many would probably presume. Make sure to get this issue right, before you start to fish.

On many waters camping sites are present at the lake, and these are often very good as "base camp" for the fishing - also giving access to toilets, bathing facilities, sometimes camping stores for supplies etc. - and you can normally purchase your permits here.
Sometimes, the only chance to fish at night are in fact from the camping grounds!

As I have been able to make a considerable number of updates on austrian carp venues, I have now found it appropiate to divide the waters into the different Bundesländer (provinces), in Austria.
To get on, click on the part of the map you're interrested in.

I have not been able to place the waters mentioned below - as I simply don't know in which bundesland they are located. If you know where I shall put them, please let me know.
