HOLLAND
- the land of the canal-carp!

Kenth's lists of european carp waters - offers hundreds of interesting waters to visit!

Welcome to this new section on dutch carp waters her on CARPHUNTERS Suite. In collaboration with dutch angler and friend Alex Poot, we have now sorted the waters by provinces, to make it even easier to find alternative waters in the area you intend to visit.
All you have to do is to click on the appropiate province on the map to the right, and you will find what we have on the waters of the area.

Along with that, Alex offers to answer all questions regarding fishing for carp in Holland. Pose your questions on dutch carpfishing on info@carphunters.com, and allow me a bit of time to correspond with Alex and to bring the answer in these pages. Look for his answers on Question-Line with Alex Poot.

In Holland you'll need the Sportvisakte, obtainable in any postoffice, to be allowed to fish at all - and besides this, you'll have to purchase local permits - the  Vergunning for the water in question. Either for the year - which is normally a membership of the local club - or the Vakantie-vergunning, valid for 15 days.
2 rods are generally allowed in this country.

Nightfishing is generally only authorized from june to the end of august (don't ask me why) - but local rules can be different - as is the case at the Twente canal, where nightfishing has now for some years been allowed all year. Make sure to make your inquirreries locally - before you start to fish!
In the province Flevoland, nightfishing is not allowed at all!

Tight lines in Holland!

Also look on the dutch "Visplanner", which is an excellent search engine to find dutch waters. Look for "Grote Karper" and then the area you're interested in. You can of course also search for the name of the water, if you know it - an get up a map to be able to find it. You can also find a listing of waters with nightfishing allowed - seach "Nachtvissen".
You'll also find the adresses where to buy the permits!
