Norway is well known for the
salmonfishing in the world famous rivers - none of which incidently hold any
carp!
Only very few lakes and ponds hold carp in this country, as it's only just
possible for the species to survive in these cold northern waters. Most carp
here are commons - but the odd mirror can be found in some waters.
Very little details of these waters are known to me.
The norwegian carp are not very big - as far as I know they have yet to top 10
kg!
It is thus not the size, but the rarity of the fish, that make norwegin carp
something special.
3. Damman
The official norwegian record carp of
9,0 kg has been caught here in 1998.
Damtjern
Carp to 7,44 kg reported from here
Ulrudsvann
Carp to 8,2 kg reported.
