Rybnik lake
This dammed lake
on the river Oder is well known for the many very big grasscarp, that have been
caught to 30 kg+. Rumours of 35 kg+ carp has been put forward, but not confirmed
- but the carp grow to 30 kg+ here. Warm cooling water is let out from
the Rybnik power plant.
Many of the earlier well known big fish are supposed to have left the lake
during serious floodings in the late nineties - but very big fish are
nevertheless still known to be present. The lake can be fished in two
different sectors from 01.02.03 - 31.12.03 from 5 o'clock to 10 o'clock in the
evening. No nightfishing. Daytickets, as well as permits for 2 weeks and a month
are available from the angling store "Sum" in Rudzka and from the
watersports center at the lake. Info: Mr. Lorenc, phone 0048 603 375 962
The fishing here is very strictly regulated, and as patrols are frequent, it is
strongly adviced, that you do not try to break the rules on this water.
